Swizzels, a beloved British confectionery company, has been delighting sweet-toothed enthusiasts since 1928. Founded by brothers Alfred and Maurice Matlow as Matlow Bros. Ltd., they began crafting jelly sweets in a modest London factory. In 1933, they joined forces with David Dee, a maker of fizzy tablets, leading to the creation of Swizzels Ltd. This partnership expanded their repertoire to include effervescent treats alongside their original jellies and chews. 

The 1970s marked a significant era for Swizzels Matlow, as they officially merged in 1975 and received the Queen's Award for Export Achievement the same year. This period also saw the introduction of iconic sweets like Love Hearts, Drumsticks, Parma Violets, and Refreshers, which have become staples in the confectionery world. 

In recent years, Swizzels has embraced the growing demand for vegan-friendly options. They've reformulated classic treats such as Drumstick Choos and Refreshers Choos to be vegan, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their nostalgic flavours.
